UC Clermont Breaks a World Record!

May 4th was not only considered Star Wars Day, but it was also a day that a world record was broken.

UC Clermont’s physics department led by Nick Abel set out to set a new world record for the most voltage generated by a potato battery. The event was held on campus in the Student Lounge from 3 to 5PM. The world record was 1224 volts of electricity generated. Abel’s potato battery had generated an impressive 1386.5 volts of electricity!

The Lantern staff would like to congratulate the physics department for setting a new world record!
